this record won the 1964 french prize grand prix du disque. this is an absolutely amazing recording, done in one non stop only time in simone signorets own parisian flat. simone signoret, cult french actor, reads la voix humaine by jean cocteau. according to jacques canetti himself, this performance was one of the very best and most intense he ever recorded. even if you dont understand french, you will feel simone signorets incredible poignancy.

sean hernandez, a.k.a. chicago skyway presents * empty patterns* on emphasis recordings. in the past, chicago skyway has recorded for labels such as eargasmic recordings, m>o>s deep, uzuri, altered moods recordings, and machining dreams, to name a few. empty patterns is a collection of tracks named after empty, programmable user patterns founds in most modern sequencers, synthesizers, and drum machines. we can only speculate which instrument was used for these tracks. all tracks are dj tools and is geared towards djs and dance floors. lots of chicago jacking house style drum patterns and bass synth stabs, with added reverb and distortion for grit and color.

craig peyton was a mainstay in nyc jazz and dance music beginning in the 70s. from playing on dan hartmans -vertigo/relight my fire- to his work on boogie funk productions with daryl payne, he is one of the unsung heroes of the era where disco transitioned into house music. his drum machine and synth based cover of william devaughans -just be thankful- came out on profile records in 1983, a daring move for a white man trained on the vibes. he gives the jam a haunting and funky rework that has only escalated in popularity over the years. it has been bootlegged extensively while original copies remain quite elusive.
